Garden Poem

Come out to the garden my darling,
come here and sit, be still for a while.
The dew is cool, there is no moon,
the evening primrose unfolds its bloom.
Hark at the swifts splitting the air,
look at the sunset lighting my hair.

So many evenings we shared out here
naming the stars in the celestial sphere,
admiring Orion as he lorded the skies,
surfing the heavens with our naked eyes.

Now I must leave you, my time is brief,
It grieves me to leave you alone with your grief.
But I will return and we two will meet
at night in the garden with the stars as our treat.
